Nutmeg State Celebrates Youth Week

Nutmeg State Financial Credit Union will host a Youth Week celebration from April 17 – 21 benefitting the March of Dimes foundation.

Like other credit unions across the nation, every April Nutmeg celebrates youth membership and financial literacy for members. Stressing the importance of saving early and managing your finances at a young age sets the tone for a healthy financial future. Nutmeg believes strongly in educating their members on what works best for their individual needs.

Through the week of April 17, Nutmeg State Financial Credit Union will be opening their Kidz Club Savings Accounts for children, up to age 12. All week, Nutmeg branches throughout the state will be raising money to support the March of Dimes organization, raising awareness and funds for premature babies.  All Kidz Club savings accounts opened during this time will benefit this organization. The credit union will match their initial deposit, up to $10 per child. In addition to a matching donation, each child will receive a fun coloring book as a limited time giveaway and thank you gift for their support.

“Helping children learn to save early is so important,” Says John Holt, President and CEO of Nutmeg. “We not only want to help families save, but we want to do our part and help save families too. We are excited to donate to March of Dimes and help premature babies get the resources they need.”

Nutmeg’s Youth Week will be celebrated in all ten branch locations: Rocky Hill, New Britain, Manchester, Glastonbury, Hartford, West Hartford, Cromwell, Bristol, Orange and Stratford. Membership is only $5 and there are no minimum balance requirements.
