Minnesota Duluth made the 2018 NCAA National Tournament by .0001 RPI points. Now they are one win away from being crowned National Champions!
For the second straight year, the Bulldogs of Minnesota Duluth will have a chance to take home a championship banner. Last year, the Bulldogs fell to Denver 3-2 in the National Championship Game, but redemption for fulfillment is the goal for this year's team. Trying to win the second title in school history, first since '11, Minnesota Duluth will certainly have a home crowd backing them as they will compete to finish the job in 2018 in their home state!
The Bulldogs played a great game from top to bottom. The defense of Minnesota Duluth was stingy to say the least. They held the Buckeyes to mostly one-shot opportunities and were very quick to clear their own zone. They also contributed on the score sheet which is always the mark of a good team. They jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead and held on the entire way to claim their spot in the big game. Ohio State narrowed the lead in the middle of the 3rd but could not generate any legitimate chance to score in the final few minutes which ultimately led to their defeat.
Minnesota Duluth now awaits the winner of ND and Michigan, puck drop is at 9:30 on ESPN 1300!
