Red Sox reliever Joe Kelly is receiving the harshest punishment for igniting a brawl between his team and the Yankees on Wednesday. Kelly was suspended six games by MLB for throwing at Yankees first baseman Tyler Austin, who was exiled for five games. Both players have appealed. The melee happened in the seventh inning at Fenway Park. Six others between the two teams are also set to be punished. Those included Red Sox manager Alex Cora, shortstop Xander Bogaerts, infielder Marco Hernandez and second baseman Dustin Pedroia.
On the New York side it was third-base coach Phil Nevin and pitcher CC Sabathia.
