Yanks off to a Rough Start

The Yankees are off to a rough start to the 2019 season the combination of injuries the line up and bullpen struggling resulted in the Yanks dropping their first 2 series to the Tigers and Orioles.

Injuries have really hampered the Yanks line up to start the season Hicks, Stanton and Andujar are all currently on the IL. Outside of Judge and Lemahieu the they have not hit at all either Sanchez, Voit, Torres and Bird have really struggled to start the season.

A surprise to start the year is that the starting pitching is the strength of the team Tanaka has had a really good start to the year having 2 starts were he went at least 5 innings pitching to an ERA of 1.46. For the exception of J.A Happ the rest of the rotation has pitched well too Paxton went into the 6th inning and gave up one earned run and Johathan Loaisiga and Domingo German did well in their first starts Loaisiga going 4 innings giving up 1 run and German getting the win going 5 innings giving up 1 run.

The Bullpen has not gotten off to a great start they have had some good outings form Zack Britton and Adam Ottavino but Aroldis Chapman and Chad Green have struggled so far. Chapman gave up 2 runs in the 9th inning on Tuesday night to lose the game and Green gave up a home run to Gordon Beckham yesterday to lose that game as well.

With the Yankees going on the road to Baltimore and Houston this week if the offense and bullpen don't pick it up they will continue to struggle.
