ICYMI The WNBA Draft

If you were still catching your breath from March Madness you may have missed that the WNBA draft happened. I am here to give you the cliff notes.

#1 overall, The Las Vegas Aces picked Jr Jackie Young from Notre Dame. This is a head scratcher to me. I can see why you don't go Tiera McGowan because you picked A'ja Wilson #1 last year. My overall favorite was Asia Durr. Maybe only room for one Asia / A'ja on the roster.

#2 The New York Liberty snatch up Asia Durr. Pairing her with UCONN's Tina Charles and Kia Nurse will be fun to watch.

#3 Tiera McGowan goes to the Indiana Fever

#4 Katie Lou Samuelson heads to Chicago to play for the Sky. With Elena Delle-Donne leaving for Washington, Katie Lou fills in as the perimeter threat and gets reunited with Gabby Williams.

# 5 The Dallas Wings select Arike Ogunbowale. I'm sure her welcome will not be warm in CT.

#6 Napheesa Collier will be a Minnesota Lynx. A new look for the Lynx in 2019. No more Lindsay Whalen, no Maya in 2019, and RIP Prince. Should be a clean slate for Phees to make her mark.

For the rest of the selections, go to WNBA's Draft page.

Plus, for the record, I am not a fan of the CT Sun's draft. I understand everyone in CT may hate Notre Dame, but you let that get in the way of missing on Bianna Turner, Jessica Shepard, and Marina Mabrey. Plus, Cierra Dillard can ball. Hopefully there were Sun scouts at Storrs watching her play against UCONN a few weeks ago. She balled.

My favorite pick of the night = Bad ass from Louisville with the full arm sleeve tatt, Sam Fuehring was selected in the 3rd round 34th overall by the Washington Mystics. She is hopefully going to turn into the Rodman of the league. Diamond in the rough.
