Even with all the Injuries the Yanks are red hot

Even with all the injuries the Yankees were able to finish their home stand taking 3 of 4 from the Royals and started their west cost trip taking 3 out of 4 from the Angels.

Injuries are continuing to hamper the Yankees line up last Thursday Aaron Judge suffered an oblique strain and could be out for at least a month. Yesterday the Yanks placed Clint Frazier on the IL with a left ankle injury. The good news is the Yanks had Garry Sanchez back in the line up on Wednesday night and they've gotten contributions from other guys in the line up, Luke Voit leads the team in Home Runs and RBIs and one of the biggest surprises is Gio Urshlea with how good his defense is and knocking in the go head run in 14th inning to win the game Monday night.

The Biggest reason for the Yankees success recently is their starting pitching. Outside of Tanaka's bad start last night the Yankees rotation has been excellent lately. On Sunday James Paxton went 6 innings allowing no runs and getting 12 strikeouts, the next night J.A. Happ went 7 innings allowing 2 runs and on Tuesday German went 6.2 innings allowing no earned runs.

A huge surprise to start this year is how the bullpen has preformed. Chad Green has started the year so poorly that he has been sent down to triple AAA. Chapman and Ottavino also had poor outings this week, Ottavino gave up back to back home runs on Sunday to give up a 5-0 lead and Chapman had his first blown save on Monday night. But both Chapman and Ottavino were able to rebound from their bad performances Ottavino pitched 2 shutout innings on Monday and Chapman got the save in the Yanks 6-5 win on Wednesday night .

The Yanks continue their west cost swing this week heading to San Francisco for 3 games with the Giants and finish their West Cost trip this week with 2 games with the D-Backs.
