Boston Bruins Season Preview

The time has finally come! The Boston Bruins are back for another year and after last season, they have a sour taste in their mouth. In the offseason many of the guys have spoken out about how hard and disappointing it was to lose Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals, especially being at home. They also said how motivating it is to get back to that position, but to change the narrative and hoist Lord Stanley’s Cup.

For the most part, the Bruins returned many of the same players as last season with the exception of a few who moved on to other teams.

The main departures are as follows:

Noel Acciari – signed with Florida Panthers

Marcus Johansson – signed with Buffalo Sabres

Free agent signings:

Par Lindholm – signed 2yrs $850,000 AAV

Brett Ritchie – signed 1yr $1M

As the season kicks off, the Bruins will start the year on a west coast trip as they will take on the Dallas Stars in the season opener. It’s never easy to start the year on a west coast trip, but David Backes expressed how it will be great for the Bruins to get to know the new guys in the locker room as the team is together a lot on the road. We won’t see the home opener until Saturday 10/12 against the New Jersey Devils.

Before we drop the puck for another year of Bruins hockey, here is a hype video to get you going.
