Bruins Win Season Opener

As the season kicked off down in Dallas against former bruins Tyler Seguin and company, the Bruins got off to a quick start. Brett Ritchie scored 1:09 into the first period on his first shot as a Bruin coincidentally against his former team. On the first power play opportunity of the season, the second unit was able to double the lead with Danton Heinen’s first goal of the season. In the second and third periods, the Stars were the better team. They looked as if they woke up from a lackluster first period where the Bruins dominated the play and controlled the puck. At the 7:55 mark in the second period, Roope Hintz would bring Dallas within a goal, but Tuukka Rask had a strong start only allowing the one. Bruins would hold on to win 2-1.
