Meet Marilee! A Very Special Girl Ready for Her Forever Home!

Meet Marilee!

She was just on the cover of Connecticut Dog!

Marilee is a very special girl looking for an equally special family. She is approximately a year old and currently weighs around 50 pounds. Marilee is both deaf and vision impaired but this in no way slows this girl down. Marilee is a very sweet and exuberant girl who has started ASL training and is well on her way to becoming her best self. She will need continued guidance, structure and professional training to ensure she will be a confident, well-rounded pup.

Marilee has quickly learned her sign language cues and even responds to some touch cues. She has spent quality time with a trainer to set her up for success. She would do best with an experienced family who is willing to dedicate the time and patience to continue her training and socialization. For her safety and security, she does also need a fenced yard.

Marilee thrives in a home with plenty of structure and enrichment including physical activities and mental stimulation. While she enjoys socializing with other dogs, her high energy level and exuberance may overwhelm cats, small dogs, and young children. For this reason, Marilee would do best with a cat-free and adult-only family or one with children over the age of 15.

Marilee has mastered crate training, house training and walks well on a harness. With consistency and lots of reinforcement, she is sure to learn it quickly to perfection! Marilee is a gorgeous girl who is fun, sweet and ready to make a family feel complete!

Her foster says her eye sight is not 100% gone, she sees to play fetch and knows her way up and down stairs etc. She gets along with most dogs, and is completely house trained.
