I have been a proponent of expanding the NCAA D1 FB tournament to 16 teams for decades. I am exhausted trying to explain to people why keeping more teams eligible late in the season would be better for everyone. The players, the coaches, the fans, the networks, even the bowls would reap huge rewards from expanding the tourney to 16. Expansion keeps campuses buzzing with hope.
Here are the criteria to make it in:
- Auto bids to each of the 10 conference champs
- 6 at-large bids
- Rankings will be based off of the CFP committee
