Achilles CT Hope and Possibility

Here is Renee's interview with Erin Spaulding, President of the Achilles International Connecticut Chapter!

She previews the Achilles CT Hope & Possibility 5K & 10K and a special pre-race event the night before with athlete Jason Romero—the first and only legally blind person to run across America!

She also details the amazing work the organization does throughout Connecticut—including their partnership with Oak Hill Chapter 126—and explains how you can become a volunteer!

An Evening with Jason Romero: Transform Your Dreams into Reality

Come hear the inspirational Jason Romero speak about what Hope & Possibility mean to him, on the eve of the 4th annual Achilles Connecticut Hope & Possibilty® 5K/10K/Fitness Walk/Kids Run, presented by Cigna. Jason will sign books at the conclusion of his talk.

Admission includes dinner (generously donated by The Union Street Tavern), one drink coupon, and a tour of the brewery. Proceeds from this event support the Achilles International-Connecticut Chapter.

The Achilles Connecticut Hope & Possibility® 5K and 10K is a flat loop course around Bloomfield that also offers a 1.5 mile fitness walk. HMF FitKids ¼ mile and ½ mile races are available for children to participate, all in support of a great cause – Achilles Connecticut! #ACTHP

All participants receive a short sleeve tech shirt and delicious post-race food.

Achilles Hope & Possibility® 10K is the second event in HMF’s three-race 10K Challenge – register in advance to earn extra big bling.DETAILS

The Hope & Possibility® is the signature race of the not-for-profit Achilles International, headquartered in New York City and with Chapters around the world. The race was founded in 2003 with the remarkable story and recovery of avid runner Trisha Meili, author ofI Am the Central Park Jogger: A Story of Hope and Possibility.

The Achilles Connecticut Chapter is excited to bring the Hope & Possibility® brand race back to the Hartford area for the 4th year in a row. The race showcases the differing abilities of athletes of all ages, and shines the spotlight on the power of the human spirit!
