2019 Campaign For Bully-Free Communities Rally

Thursday, October 3rd

Where:

EMPOWER Leadership Sports & Adventure Center

2011 S Main St, Middletown, CT 06457

About:

The Campaign for Bully-Free Communities was started by the Community Foundation of Middlesex County’s Council of Business Partners, a philanthropic group of local business people who pool their resources to support positive youth development. Ten years ago they partnered with Rushford mental health professionals and developed school-based programs that have now helped over 10,000 educators, students, and school bus drivers recognize and prevent negative social behaviors.

A few years ago the partnership expanded to include the Connecticut Association of Schools, Empower Leadership Sports, The First Tee of Connecticut, former NBA/UCONN basketball star Donny Marshall; and iHeart Radio’s Renee DiNino as the campaign’s Chief Ambassador.

Each October, during National Bullying Prevention Month, the group hosts a few hundred students at the Rally For Bully-Free Communities. This year the rally will take place on October 3 at Empower Leadership Sports in Middletown.
