Here is the rundown of the 11 student athletes who signed today with the University of Connecticut

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn football team received National Letters of Intent from 11 future Huskies, as announced by head coach Randy Edsall on Wednesday morning. 

 

The 11 players hail from six different states and Canada and include two future Huskies from the Nutmeg State.

 

Edsall will hold a Signing Day press conference at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in the Burton Family Football Complex and fans can watch live, or later, on the UConn Football Facebook page.

 

Myles BellFreshman | Defensive Back | 6-0, 165 | Plantation, Fla. | St. Thomas Aquinas

High School: Played two seasons under Roger Harriot at St. Thomas Aquinas High School… Totaled 14 tackles in 12 career games with five passes defended.

 

Rayonte BrownFreshman | Offensive Line | 6-6, 252 | Dundalk, Md. | Dundalk

High School: Played football under head coach Matt Banta at Dundalk HS in Baltimore, Md. … First Team All-County… Lettered in basketball.

 

Malik DixonFreshman | Defensive Back | 6-0, 183| Orlando, Fla. | WekivaHigh School: Lettered in three sports at Wekiva HS in Orlando, Fla…. Football, basketball and track and field… National Honor Society.

 

Dillon HarrisJunior | Linebacker | 6-0, 231| Bloomfield, Conn. | Lackawanna College/Cheshire AcademyAt Lackawanna: Spent two years at Lackawanna College, playing in 15 games, accumulating 73 tackles and 8.5 sacks to go along with 17 tackles for loss and three interceptions.  13.5 of his TFL’s and six of his sacks came during the 2018 season.  All three of his interceptions came during 2018, one of which he returned for a touchdown.

High School: Went to Bloomfield HS before attending Cheshire Academy in 2017… Lettered in football, baseball and track… Recorded 164 tackles, 8.5 tackles and 20.0 tackles for loss during 2015 season… Added seven receptions for 118 yards and two touchdowns.

Jackson MitchellFreshman | Linebacker | 6-2, 212 | Ridgefield, Conn. | Ridgefield

High School: Played three seasons under head coach Kevin Callahan at Ridgefield HS in Ridgefield, Conn…. Walter Camp All-CT First Team member… First Team All-FCIAC… CHSCA All-State Top-25 Player… New Haven Register First Team (WR)… USA Today All-USA Connecticut Team… Senior Captain… Ridgefield HS Record for sacks in a season with 14.5 his senior season… During senior year accumulated 35 tackles, 14.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, two interceptions, five passes defended and four touchdowns… Junior year hauled in 80 receptions for 1124 yards, 14 TD’s… Added 40 tackles, three sacks and three interceptions.

In 2018, passed for 2390 yards and 24 touchdown passes on 151 completions, ranking first in the league in yards and touchdown passes...Racked up 2030 passing yards on 113 completions and tossed 21 touchdown passes in 2017... Logged 1333 passing yards, 11 touchdown passes and 102 completions in 2015.
