Last week the Yankees signed DJ Lemahieu to a 2 year 24 Million Dollar deal. This move was made to give the Yankees a contact hitter at the top of the lineup and to improve their infield defense. Lemahieu is 30 and has been with the Rockies since 2012, he has a career average of .298 with 49 HRs and 349 RBIs. In 2018 Lemahieu hit .276 with 15 HRs and 62 RBIs in 128 games. With the Yankees starting the New Year signing Lemahieu and Tulowitzki it looks their probably out on getting Machado and have chosen to go forward in 2019 with the young core of Torres, Andujar, Judge, and Sanchez.
